Data when you land

Everything else is handled. But the moment you switch off airplane mode in Jeddah, you're down to two bad options — a queue at the airport, or roaming charges.

⚠ Before you fly

Saudi Arabia isn't in your plan's roaming zone.

Whatever network you're on at home, Saudi Arabia sits outside the bundle. Your unlimited data stops the moment you land, and everything switches to pay-as-you-go — billed per megabyte.

One video call home can cost more than a month of local data. A 10-minute WhatsApp video call uses roughly 50–80 MB. At standard out-of-bundle roaming rates, a handful of those calls will outprice this entire eSIM — and you won't find out until the bill lands.
  • The airport SIM desk: 45 minutes to an hour After a long-haul flight, in ihram, with your family and the luggage. And biometric registration is mandatory for every Saudi SIM card — passport and fingerprints, at the counter.
  • Hotel Wi-Fi won't follow you to the Haram It's slow, it's saturated around prayer times, and it stops at your room door. Outside is exactly where you'll need it.
Beyond the gigabytes

What being connected actually changes.

Nobody travels for Umrah to buy mobile data. Here are the four moments it matters.

Finding your group in the crowdTawaf separates families. Without a signal you wait at the meeting point and hope. With one, it's a single message.
Calling your mother from the courtyardNot a photo you show her when you're back. The moment itself, shared while it's happening.
Maps between the hotel and the HaramMakkah at night, millions of people, streets that look alike. GPS isn't a luxury here.
Connecting your family from your phoneHotspot sharing is allowed. One eSIM can be enough to keep your parents' phones online too.

Before you order

The questions we get most.

Will it work on my phone?

If your phone is less than about six years old, almost certainly. On Apple: iPhone XR, XS and every model since. On Android: Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, Z Flip and Z Fold, Google Pixel 3 and later, plus most recent Xiaomi, Oppo and Huawei handsets. The only other requirement is that your phone is unlocked — if it's still tied to a carrier, they'll usually unlock it free on request.

We're travelling as a group — do we each need one?

One eSIM per phone, yes — and the discount applies automatically at checkout: 5% off from two, 10% off from three. All the QR codes arrive in the same email and each person installs their own before departure. The alternative, if you're staying together: one eSIM on a larger plan, sharing the connection from a single phone. Hotspot use is allowed.

Will I lose my own number?

No. The eSIM sits alongside your physical SIM as a second line, so your usual number stays active. You keep receiving texts and your bank's verification codes, and WhatsApp still runs on your normal number. Only mobile data goes through the eSIM.

When do my 30 days start?

At your very first network connection inside Saudi Arabia — not at purchase, not at installation. So you can order and install a week before you fly without using a single megabyte.

How much data does Umrah actually use?

For a 10 to 15 day trip with Maps, WhatsApp, social media and a daily video call home, most pilgrims use somewhere between 8 and 12 GB. A 10-minute WhatsApp video call is roughly 50–80 MB. The 10 GB plan covers a typical stay comfortably; go for 20 GB if you'll be sharing your connection with several people.

What if I can't get it installed?

We refund you. As long as the eSIM hasn't been activated, you can request a full refund within 30 days, no explanation needed. And we'll help you by email if you get stuck at any step.

Does it really work the moment I land?

Yes, as soon as you leave airplane mode. One setting people forget: turn on Data Roaming for the eSIM line in your settings. The name sounds alarming, but it's required for any travel eSIM and it triggers no charge from your home carrier. That single toggle is behind nine out of ten “my eSIM isn't working” messages.

Sort it before you fly.

Two minutes now, at home. Or an hour in a queue in Jeddah.
